Orkney wins at Durham
September 11, 2005: Orkney Northern Light (4%) was named beer of the festival at the 25th Durham Beer Festival.
Runner-up spot was awarded jointly to Jarrow Brewery's Rivet Catcher and Isle of Mull Galleon Gold. Durham Silver Chalice (7.2%) was third.
"The 25th Durham Beer Festival was a resounding success," said Durham CAMRA treasurer and acting chairman Eddie Turner.
"Some 10 extra beers were stillaged on Friday night to see us through the Saturday session and sales of cider and perry seem to grow each year."
