Great British Beer Festival Gallery

l The serious matter of judging the Champion Beer of Britain gets under way. In the initial judging there were halfa dozen or so tables like this. This table includes Nigel Evans MP (right), vice-chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Beer Group, and Andrew Pring (second left), editor of the Morning Advertiser.
l Gordon Giltrap was one of the top-quality entertainers at the festival. An excellent blues guitarist who enjoys a good rapport with his audience.
l The Hall and Woodhouse seating area, taking the form or a village green complete with cow where drinkers could enjoy the range of Badger ales.
l The Theakston trade bar proves popular, with the Hook Norton, Marston's, Sharp's and Caledonian in the background.
l The well-known Bombardier double-decker bus is now used to promote the full range of Wells & Young's beers.
l A fine body of men: the Caledonian Deuchars Pipers parade during the trade session.
l Happy birthday! Greene King presented a cake to mark the 30th anniversary of the Great British Beer Festival. Festival organiser Marc Holmes (centre) is seen cutting the cake, flanked by Steve Magnal, operations director of Greene King, and Fiona Hope, marketing director of the Greene King Brewing Company.
l Skinner's Brewery mascot Betty Stogs, who lent her name to the beer of the same name, travelled up from Cornwall with the harmonious Skinner's Sinners Singers to enjoy a few bevvies and sing some traditional Cornish songs.
