Put out the flags for Wainwright
May 10, 2008: To mark the launch of its bottled beer, commemorating the life of walker and author Alfred Wainwright, Thwaites is giving away flags that can be flown along routes which the Lancastrian made famous.
Those who submit pictures of themselves with the flags, taken during a walk, will be entered into a competition and the best 10 will be sent a complimentary case of the new brew.
Originally brewed as a seasonal to mark Thwaites' bicentenary in 2007, and the centenary of Wainwright's birth, the beer is now a permanent in the Thwaites portfolio.
The 4.1% ABV brew is a refreshing, straw-coloured beer, with soft fruit flavours and a hint of sweetness from the malt.
