Greene King launches new seasonal line-up
April 10, 2008: Greene King has unveiled its seasonal cask ale range for 2008 a mixture of old favourites and some new brews.
Our new seasonal cask ale range will provide drinkers with a broad choice of beers all year round," said Greene King Brewing Company managing director Justin Adams.
"Alongside our existing portfolio of quality, award-winning cask ales, were pleased to offer licensees an even greater variety and range of fine ales from established favourites to exclusive new brews.
To kick start spring, Morland Tanners Jack (4.4% ABV) brewed to celebrate the centuries old tradition of drinking fine ales from leather tankards called Black Jacks or simply Jacks will be available from April to May this year. Its a flavoursome and well-hopped ale, soft reddish brown in colour with a nutty, malty palette followed by sweetness and a smooth finish. Hopping forward to 2009, Hare Raiser (4.1%) will be specially brewed in time for Easter.
For summer, two special cask ales will be available. One of Greene Kings best-selling seasonal ales, Ale Fresco (4.3%), a zesty blonde beer, is back by popular demand, available from May to June. Then, brand new seasonal Sundance (4.1%) light in colour with flowery hop aromas will be available from July to August.
Bonkers Conkers (4.1%) will be available during September, rich red/brown with smooth nutty flavours. Greene King is also bringing back Ridleys Witchfinder (4.3%), a porter-style beer, in October. The beer support's CAMRAs campaign to highlight the potential extinction of porters.
Christmas comes early for fans of cask ale favourites Abbot Reserve (6.5%) and one of the fastest-selling and most popular seasonal ales, Hardys and Hansons Rocking Rudolph (4.5%). Both are back to warm up drinkers during the winter season.
Easing ale fans back into the New Year after indulging during the festive period, Abstinence Ale (3.6%) is perfect for those who enjoy a sweet, malty mild.
