S&N rejects latest Carlsberg / Heineken offer

January 10, 2007: Scottish & Newcastle have rejected the latest takeover offer from the Carlsberg / Heineken consortium of 780p per share.

S&N says it will not even consider an offer under 800p, but Carlsberg and Heineken countered by saying it would not go hostile in a bid for the British company.

Industry regulators have given Carlsberg and Heineken until January 21 to make a formal bid for Scottish and Newcastle or walk away from the deal.
