Record attendance at GBBF
August 9, 2005: The terrorist incidents in London didn't deter serious beer drinkers - that's the message from Great British Beer Festival organisers CAMRA who recorded another record attendance, up to 47,000 over the five days.
Some 245,664 pints were consumed - about 96 per cent of the 700 beers that were available.
This was the last festival to take place at Olympia. Next year the venue is Earl's Court, from August 1-5.
