Barley Mow honours valued customers

l Barley Mow stalwarts (left to right) Baz, Peggy and Stuart raise their commemorative tankards
January 9, 2007: The Barley Mow, in Epsom a Fuller's pub is giving its oldest customers something to remember.
Manager Stuart Ford has identified both the longest-serving local and his oldest customer, and designed a tankard to recognise them.
Regular Steve Davis has been drinking at the Barley Mow for more than 35 years. Steve is the greenkeeper at the local golf club and first visited the pub with his grandfather when he was a boy.
The pubs oldest customers are a lovely couple in their early 80s, Baz and Peggy. During the Second World War Baz served as an engineer with the Royal Marines and the couple have been drinking in the pub for more than 13 years.
Steve, Baz and Peggy were all invited to the pub for dinner on Wednesday December 20, where Stuart presented each of them with a specially engraved tankard to thank them for their loyalty.
Stuart said: With all the festive cheer in the air I felt it was the perfect time to give something back to my oldest customers and celebrate their commitment to the pub.
"The Barley Mow is a real community pub and I am delighted to have such wonderful customers. I hope that Steve, Baz and Peggy will all continue to enjoy visiting us and will remain regular customers for many more years to come."
