Fuller's expands on the south coast
July 7, 2005: Fuller's has completed the purchase of the Wine Vaults in Southsea, Hampshire.
The Wine Vaults will be run as a managed house and aim to appeal to a wide range of customers - and the name and decor will not be changing.
"We are delighted to have purchased this pub - it is already a successful venue, and we will be looking to build on its existing good reputation," said Fuller's retail director Simon Emeny.
"We are keen to expand into this area and the purchase of the Wine Vaults gives Fuller's a foothold in South Hampshire."
He added: "As a company, we are constantly looking to increase the size of our pub estate - which is currently around the 240 pub mark - and the Portsmouth area is a key location. We are interested in purchasing other pubs in and around this part of the south coast and are always on the look out for suitable sites."
