Alaskan Brewing Co wins Pacific prize
January 6, 2007: The Alaskan Brewing Company's Winter Ale was named champion beer at the Pacific Brew News Winter Beer Show.
The blind-tasting judges described the brew as "special", adding: "The spruce tips that come through in the aroma are a welcome surprise, and the gentle character makes this beer approachable for any palate. If you haven't tried this beer yet, you have no idea what you're missing."
Runner-up was last year's winner He'Brew Monumental Jewbelation 10, with Anderson Valley Winter Solstice third.
