Shepherd Neame reports healthy profit rise
October 5, 2006: Shepherd Neame has announced pre-tax profits up 13.9% to £11.2 million for the 53 weeks to July 1.
Total beer sales were up 6.1%, while managed house like-for-like sales and tenanted pub sales rose by 4.9% and 12.4% respectively.
I am very pleased the company has achieved its 31st consecutive year of growth," said chairman Miles Templeman.
"This has been a good performance with strong results in all parts of the business against last year and against expectations.
"I have thoroughly enjoyed my first year as chairman and have been impressed by the quality and strength of the business in what is a challenging and changing market.
