White Horse retains top pub title
September 5, 2006: For the second year running the White Horse in Palmer's Green, North London, has been named the UK's top pub in a poll of industry experts conducted by the Morning Advertiser.
The pub is run by Mark Dorber, but he is planning to move on soon, to concentrate on the other pub he runs, wife his wife Sophie - the Anchor, at Walberswick, Suffolk.
The White Horse is owned by Mitchells and Butlers, and the Anchor by Adnams. Mr Dorber says his next challenge could be a freehouse.
