Community Pubs Foundation launched

August 5, 2005: CAMRA has launched the Community Pubs Foundation in a bid to slow the rate of closure of Britain public houses.

The campaigning group revealed this week that an average of 26 pubs a month are being shut forever, with many more under threat.

The foundation will provide support for local communities fighting to save their local from being demolished, turned into houses or any other use. It will provide advice, information and small grants to local communities.
