Football and sunshine boosts Fuller's figures
August 5, 2006: Like-for-like sales in Fuller's managed pub business rose by 4.2 per cent in the 16 weeks to July 22. World Cup football and good weather helped to boost the figures.
The company said it was seeing the benefits of synergy following the completion of the integration of Gale's business into Fuller's.
I remain enthusiastic about the year ahead and expect to see progress in the combined business in line with our targets," said chairman Anthony Fuller, who used the announcement of the results to confirm that he will be stepping down next summer. He will stay on with the company for three years as a non-executive director.
