Fuller's take on English Golf Union sponsorship
March 5, 2007: Fullers London Pride is becoming the title sponsor of the English Golf Union (EGU) Gold Medal, the flagship event for club handicap golfers.
This prestigious competition attracts participation from more than 600 clubs and estimated 90,000 golfers throughout England and entry forms are now being sent to all clubs and counties.
In addition to receiving a winners medal and the opportunity to take part in the two-day grand final at Woodhall Spa, Fullers will be offering a case of London Pride to each club winner plus a weekend break at a Fullers Hotel in London and years supply of London Pride to the overall competition winner.
Only Englands top 81 club winners are guaranteed a place at the grand final. For the first time the Gold Medal leaderboard will be available on the EGU website allowing all golfers to see how their club or their countys clubs are fairing against the competition.
David Spencer, brands marketing manager for Fullers, said: The Fullers London Pride EGU Gold Medal is the ultimate prize for club golfers and we are delighted to be supporting their quest to get to the final at Woodhall Spa.
Fullers and the EGU have agreed a five-year deal and are working on a number of initiatives to support golfers and their clubs.
EGU Marketing and PR Manager Lynne Fraser added, The Fullers London Pride Gold Medal can be won by any EGU member at any of our clubs and truly recognises Englands best handicap golfer each year.
"Fullers has a great enthusiasm to support a range of initiatives at clubs and we are delighted that the company have chosen to work in partnership with the EGU.
