Tribute arrives at Paddington - Pride comes west

l Left to right, Simon Robertson Macleod, Fuller's account manager, Adrain Staley, St Austell Brewery's national sales manager, Clare Gage, manager of the Mad Bishop and Bear, Paddington, and Piers Thompson, St Austell Brewery's national sales executive, raise a glass in Paddington Station, where Tribute has gone on sale.
February 5, 2005: Weary rail passengers arriving at Paddington Station in London can now refresh themselves with a taste of Cornwall. St Austell Brewery's award-winning Tribute Cornish ale has become available as a guest beer at the station's busy Fuller's pub, the Mad Bishop and Bear.
Fuller's has welcomed Tribute as part of a unique agreement with St Austell Brewery, in which Fuller's London Pride will be available to St Austell free trade customers across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset. Tribute will also be featured as a guest beer twice a year in Fuller's other pubs.
Adrian Staley, St Austell's national sales manager, said the agreement was great news for Tribute lovers visiting London. "We're delighted that Fuller's has chosen our beer for the Mad Bishop and Bear and I'm sure many Cornish people will be pleased to drink a refreshing Tribute when they are in the big smoke," he said.
"We're also pleased to be able to offer Fuller's London Pride to our free trade customers in the South West."
Since its introduction at the station, Tribute has become a popular choice among commuters stopping off for a pint. Clare Gage, manager of the Mad Bishop and Bear, said: "There has already been much interest in Tribute. It is an exceptional cask ale and proving very popular. Travellers are very much aware of the connection and symbolism of the Paddington line and Cornwall and are pleased to see it on the bar."
Simon Robertson Macleod, Fuller's national account controller, said: "We are very pleased to reciprocate with St Austell Brewery, another family owned business. Strategically, we are also keen to develop London Pride in the South West region."
Other outlets where Tribute is available in London currently include the West Cornwall Pasty Company at Covent Garden and on the King's Road, and the Golden Eagle on Marylebone Lane.
