Carlsberg to offer new training initiative
July 4, 2005: Carlsberg UK, which recently became a patron of the Beer Academy, has embarked on a major training initiative to ensure that all new employees are given the opportunity to develop an understanding and passion for beer through sessions based upon the academy's one-day foundation course.
" We believe that it is vitally important for all our new employees to be offered a thorough introduction to beer production and the fun industry we all work in," said Carlsberg UK's learning and development manager, Cecile Ay.
"We are also offering our existing employees the opportunity to attend the Beer Academy's public courses as they strike the right balance between industry information and specific product knowledge, with a very interactive element. I can thoroughly recommend this course to anyone looking for a great introduction to the world of brewing".
Dr George Philliskirk, chief executive of the Beer Academy, said: "We are delighted to be working closely with Carlsberg UK on this venture. It is a clear demonstration of the commitment by the company to enthusing their employees about the great world of beer."
