Investment to expand Jennings

June 4, 2005: Wolverhampton & Dudley brewery (W&D) has said it will invest £250,000 in the recently-acquired Jennings brewery to develop it as a national brand.

The Cumbrian brewery has been at the centre of protests by CAMRA who have feared for its future, so W&D will have been keen to prove its backing for Jennings early on.

It reckons the brewery is working to about a third of its capacity. The investment would be likely to involve expanding fermentation and cask racking.
