Young's set to outsource brewing?
January 3, 2006: Newspaper reports suggest that Young's could be considering outsourcing production of its famous London beers.
It has been known for a while that the company has been considering realising the real estate value of its Wandsworth site, but speculation up to now has been focused on the brewery moving to an out-of-town position, or even leaving London altogether.
But a report in The Times suggests that third-party brewing could be a way ahead for the company.
Shepherd Neame, Charles Wells and Hall and Woodhouse are suggested as potential partners, and the article even thinks the unthinkable - a partnership or merger with Fuller's!
