Hopping Hare's back for spring

February 2, 2008: This month sees the return of Hall & Woodhouse's Hopping Hare, beginning another year of seasonal cask ales for the Dorset brewer.

Hopping Hare (4.5%) is a light, refreshing, golden ale with a distinctive hoppy aroma and slight citrus undertones.

Head brewer Dr Tim Morris said: "To achieve Hopping Hare's distinctive hoppy aroma and taste, we add Super Styrian hops to the copper twice during the brewing process, and then add Styrian Goldings hops to cask for that third kick of hops and extra aroma."

Last year was the first time Hopping Hare appeared in the Hall & Woodhouse seasonal ale programme – after its success at the Great British Beer Festival, where it sold out on every day of the event.

It returns as a seasonal brew now, following on from the success of Pickled Partridge over the winter.

Hopping Hare is served in a unique stemmed pint glass to help keep its hoppy aroma inside, adding to the heady experience of supping the ale.

Hopping Hare is available on draught until the end of April, as well as in 500ml bottles in selected branches of Tesco and Sainsbury’s from the middle of the month.
