Average pint costs £2.24p
October 1, 2005: The average cost of a pint of beer has gone up 9p this year to £2.24p, the publishers of the new edition of the Good Pub Guide report.
The dearest average pint is in Surrey, at £2.51p, while Lancashire offers the best value for money, at an average £2.
However, there are an increasing number of upmarket hostelries where pint can cost £3 or more.
