Sharp's links up with Bristol charity

April 1, 2007: Sharp's brewery has announced it will donate 5% of the proceeds of its beer sold in Bristol's rugby clubs to special needs charity Props.

Sharp's will be distributing its beers throughout clubs in the city which already support the rugby charity, together boosting fundraising efforts.

Props provides support and opportunities for youngsters who are keen to get involved with sport and be part of mainstream life.

Bristol rugby clubs will stock Sharp’s beer this season in time for the Props National Premiership Tens Tournament, which starts at the end of spring.

The brewery managing director, Nick Baker, said: “Sharp’s has always been involved with rugby in Bristol and we are delighted to have the chance to support a charity that was inspired by the sport.”

Chairman of Props, Dave Reeves, said: “As we both have strong roots in the rugby community, it’s fantastic to be linking up with Sharp’s Brewery. I am especially pleased that Sharp's will be with us for the National Charity Tens in April, an event which we hope will reach the successes of last year."
