Price of Banks's to rise by 8p a pint
February 1, 2006: Eyebrows have been raised as Wolverhampton and Dudley Breweries has announced a rise of 3.9 per cent in the price of many of its pints. A pint of Banks's Bitter will go up by nearly 8p.
The company blames energy costs and says in-house efficiencies have enabled it to keep increases at a minimum.
CAMRA has criticised the increases, particularly as the company posted an operating profit of £121.9, for 2005.
