Grolsch Premium Weizen exclusive to ASDA
May 5, 2008: Grolsch Premium Weizen, a Dutch beer that, its brewer says, takes the best elements from both German and Belgian styles of wheat beers, is to go on sale in the UK exclusively in ASDA from May 13.
Produced from 60% malted wheat and 40% barley malt, the beer has a characteristic cloudiness from its proteins and yeast. An almost imperceptible hop bitterness makes it a good partner for a variety of foods, especially fish and vegetarian dishes.
It is slightly fuller-bodied and creamier than the Belgian style of wheat beer, but lighter and more elegant than the Germans, says Grolsch.
