Ventnor Brewery has a history stretching back to the 1840s, but the firm's modern era began in 1995 when the old brewery building was purchased by a group of investors and major refurbishment carried out, as well as the installation of a 10-barrel plant. Ownership changed twice throughout management buyouts, until the present team set up in 2001. Steady growth has seen the brewery become a major part of Ventnor and Island life.
Regular beers: Golden Bitter (4%), Hippy High Ale (4.4%), Hygeia Organic Ale (4.6%), Old Ruby Ale (4.7%), Oyster Stout (4.5%), Pistol Night (4.4%), Scarecrow Best (4.2%), Sunfire Bitter (4.3%), Wight Spirit (5%)
Seasonal beers: Anti-Freeze (5.2%, winter), De-Icer (4.5%, winter), Druid Fluid (4.5%, autumn), Molly Downer (4.2%), Sand Rock (5.6%)
