Samuel Arthur Brain established his own Cardiff brewery in 1882, buying the Old Brewery, which dated back to the 18th century. In 1997 it acquired another local brewery, Buckley's. The company owns more than 200 pubs in Wales and the Westcountry.

Regular beers: Bitter (3.7%), Bread of Heaven (4%), Buckley's Best Bitter (3.7%), Buckley's IPA (3.4%), Dark (3.5%), Rev James (4.5%), SA (4.2%)

Seasonal beers: Cwrw Seren (4.6%, November and December), Land of My Fathers (4%), St David's Ale (4.1%, February and March)
