Described, appropriately enough, as a magnum opus of for any connoisseur of beverages — either alcoholic or non alcoholic — The Dictionary of Drink offers 57,000 entries in, as one would expect, an A to Z format.

All aspects of booze are covered, including beers and breweries, wines from the world's major vineyards, spirits and liqueurs, coffees and teas, and even milk and mineral water.

The publishers say this is "a unique book that will prove invaluable to
anyone, from the enthusiast who wants to make an unusual cocktail, to the wine expert that wishes to check the location of a French Vineyard.

Author Graham Edwards is a lecturer in food and beverages at Guernsey College, is a member of the HCIMA and the Cookery and Food Association, and holds the Diploma of the Wines and Spirits Education Trust, as well as being a director of coffee studies. He lives in Guernsey with his wife and co-author Susan.

The Dictionary of Drink is published by Tempus Publishing at £17.99.
