LANCASTER
Duchy (3.9%)
LEATHERBRITCHES
Hairy Helmet (4.7%): A pale bitter, well hopped, but with a sweet finish.
JW LEES
Brewer's Dark (3.5%): Previously
badged as GB Mild, this is a smooth, easy-drinking beer with liquorice
and chocolate notes and a malty aftertaste. (20-02-08)
John Willie's (4.5%): named after the brewery's
founder, this is a premium, light coloured bitter with a nutty finish
from Northdown and Golding hops and pale ale malt. (20-02-08)
Scorcher (4.2%): A fruity aroma
and refreshing hop finish. (20-02-08)
LEFFE
Blonde (6.6%): A revelation to me in 2004. Brilliant hop flavour, zesty fruit too, slightly sweeter on the finish. (DN)
LITTLE CREATURES
Little Creatures Pale Ale (5.2%): I've had this in the fridge for a couple of weeks you probably don't have to leave it there that long, indeed it will take an enormous amount of willpower for me to leave one there again. This is a cracking beer, a refreshing, zesty, citrussy beer that delivers a good bitter hop hit, with just a hint of honeycomb sweetness. 5.2%? Hmm much too drinkable. (DN)
LITTLE VALLEY
Cragg Vale Bitter (4.2%), Hebden's Wheat (4.5%),
Moor Ale (5.5%), Stoodley Stout (4.8%), Tod's Blonde (5%), Withens IPA
(3.9%)
LIZARD ALES
An Gof (5.2%): A strong malty, end-of-session
beer. Some fruit flavour pushes its way through the maltiness. (DN:
10-06-07)
Frenchman's Creek (4.6%): Made in a traditional India Pale Ale style
with well-rounded flavour.
Helford River (3.6%): A great and very popular session beer, excellently
balanced with nice malt notes but equally strong hop flavours.
Kernow Gold (3.7%), Lizard Bitter (4.2%)
