GODDARDS

Duck's Folly (5.2%): Dark golden with a fresh grassy hop, sweetish but more bitter on the finish. There's a taste of marmalade and grapefruit in there. (DN)

Goddards Special Bitter (4%): Nicely balanced, very drinkable session bitter, offering bisuity malt countered by peppery hop and a hint of lemon on the finish. Lots of fresh peppery hop on the aroma. (DN)

GRAINSTORE

Ten Fifty (5.5%): A traditional strong bitter with good malt balanced by nutty, spicy hoppiness. (DN: 23-06-07)

GRAND UNION

Honey Porter (4.9%): Doesn't sound like a great idea on paper, but the taste is subtle and sublime — ridiculously drinkable. Probably my favourite of the 2005 St Ives Beer Festival. (DN)
