BEERS
Bock Beer (4.5%): A continental-style brew
with Munich malt and European Hallertau and Saaz hops. A complex, rich,
smooth and warming beer. It is bottled with an ABV of 8%.
Dark Mild (3.2%), FA (5.1%), Finest Bitter (4%), IPA (3.8%),
4SEASONAL
BEERS 2008
Culture Beer 2008 (5%): Brewed to celebrate Liverpool,
Cains' home city, being European Capital of Culture for 2008. Biscuity
malt and orange citrus hops combine well for an easy-quaffing amber beer.
There are Liberty, Cascade and, late on, Styrian Goldings hops. (DN:
01-06-08)
Dragonheart (5%)
Finest Lager (5%): A smooth, full-flavoured lager
with Maris Otter malt from Norfolk and Saaz aroma hops.
Fine Raisin Beer (5%): What can I say? This has
instantly become a Norbury favourite, a very drinkable ale with a subtle
hint of raisins sitting nicely in the background and
cutting through sweetish notes. Beautiful. (DN)
Sundowner (4.6%), Triple Hop (4.5%), Victorian Beer (4.7%)

deep, amber-coloured ale with a complex malt, fruit and hop flavour, the
latter from Challenger and Fuggles varieties.
Tradewinds (4.3%): Light, dry, hoppy beer with
pleasant tones of elderflower and vanilla. Good summer quaffing ale.
White Lady (4.7%), Witches Cauldron (4.9%)
CALEDONIAN
Auld Lang Syne (4.6%): A maltier Caledonian,
but with a dry finish. Not what us Deuchars drinkers are used to at all,
but jolly fine all the same. (DN)
Chocolate Drop (3.8%): Crammed with malted roast and caramel to give
a good chocolatey taste.
Deuchars IPA (3.8%): Bursting with refreshing fruity hoppiness. A
beautiful golden colour. One of those beers that maintains its lively
character in a bottle, even though it is not bottle conditioned. On draught,
magic. It was CAMRA's
Champion Beer of Britain in 2002. (DN)
Golden Promise (4.4%)
Nectar (4.3%): Bronze in colour with a complex fruity character,
there are hints of honey and a citrus palate, ending in zesty sweetness.
